MEET
Judith TaiT
Judith Tait spent 25 years protecting communities as a Toronto Police Officer, including 11 years as a Sergeant leading teams through complex, high-stakes situations that demanded calm leadership, careful judgment, and real accountability. That career was built on a simple conviction: people deserve to understand what is happening, why decisions are being made, and what comes next. She carried that principle into every briefing, every investigation, and every conversation with the communities she served.
Today, Judith works and lives in Whitby with her husband and their beloved pets. A proud mother, business owner, and community advocate, she has spent years building strong connections across the town she calls home. She has owned and operated businesses in Whitby for the past 16 years, including building and growing a successful dog walking and pet care company that she later sold after leading a team of eight staff and administrators. Through that work, she built strong relationships with families across the community and earned trust by showing up consistently and delivering dependable service.
Judith has worked as a background investigator for Durham Regional Police Service. She also served on the Whitby Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, where she acted as Board Conduit for the Advocacy Committee, and hosts and produces content on Rogers TV. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Diploma in Law and Security Administration.
She is not a career politician. She is a professional who has spent her life asking the right questions, solving problems under pressure, and following through on commitments.
Whitby is home. West Ward is her community. And when Judith looks at what residents have been dealing with, she sees people who deserve better communication, stronger accountability, and a councillor who shows up for every neighbourhood, not just during election season.
Judith is a bridge-builder by nature and by practice. Whether coordinating a police response, leading a business team, supporting local business through the Chamber, or helping residents navigate challenges, her instinct has always been to connect people to solutions and make sure no one is left without answers. West Ward needs that kind of leadership now.
WHAT Judith BELIEVEs
Every resident deserves to know what their councillor is doing, what it costs, and whether it is delivering results.
West Ward is strongest when every voice is heard, including those who have felt overlooked or left out of the conversation.
Good governance means more than making promises. It means showing up, asking tough questions, communicating honestly, and following through.
Public trust is earned through consistency, transparency, and accountability to the people you serve.
